I have been doing different smaller projects lately like crochet and crafts.
found this adorable crochet head band pattern off of Pinterest!!! Please excuse the nasty picture of me! I swear the headband is adorable, don't let my grossness ruin it for you!
There is the link, and I would recommend the specific brand of yarn she mentions in this tutorial because it does work best (I have tried a couple brands for this headband and the Simply Soft is not as stretchy)

I have been making more flowers that I will turn into clips and also crochet wash clothes

I really like this washcloth pattern:

Lastly, my sister that lives in Utah facebooked about making wreaths (I think she said fall wreaths but now remembering back I'm not 100% sure)

Well I already had a wreath and the rest of my crafting stuff I got from Target dollar rack! LOVE TARGET!

Here is my completed wreath. I feel like this perfect for the end of summer beginning of fall time. Once October hits, then it's Halloween all the way!

Crochet Flower Clip

Wow, it has been FOREVER! Since I last posted I have really gotten into crocheting! Here is something I finished last week. It's a darling crochet flower that I glued to an alligator clip. I have been crocheting lots of headbands, but I think I almost like doing just the clips themselves. The headband pictured above is the crochet headbands you can buy for around a $1 and I like them better then a regular crochet band because they have elastic in them.

Anyway, I purchased the flower pattern off of Etsy: http://www.etsy.com/listing/61298470/crochet-pattern-headband-flower-and-bow?ref=sr_gallery_31&ga_search_query=crochet+flower+headband+patterns&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=ZZ&ga_min=0&ga_max=0&ga_search_type=all

I like this pattern a lot! I make these flowers all the time now and they always get lots of compliments!

New Year... New Projects!!!

Well, it's been awhile since I posted on here. I had my baby last month so I have been super busy with my adorable baby girl!

It's a new year and with that comes new ideas for projects I would like to accomplish! Come this fall my husband will be starting dental school and we will be moving this summer to a bigger place. I have some fun ideas for this new home of ours and I cannot wait!!!

One project I will be working on shortly is baby leg warmers. Super easy and SUPER CUTE!

I don't have time to start this project today, but if you want to take a look at a tutorial and the blog I found this cute picture from check out the link below!!!

Hair Stuff Holder

I have been accumulating a lot of little girl hair bands and bows the past few months and decided I needed to come up with a place to keep them. I found an empty card board box and wrapped it in some left over fabric....

After that I added a bow:

And now I have a container that I keep all my little girl's hair stuff in and it didn't cost me a penny. Sweet!

Pregnant Halloween Costume

So I have been searching around for a good idea for my Halloween costume this year and I thought it would be fun to incorporate the baby bump.

I saw several different versions of this pregnancy skeleton costume online and the one pictured above I thought was cute and not creepy looking so I decided to model mine after it.

I found a tutorial from Make It-Love It blog that gave step by step pictures and instructions. She also made a matching outfit for her husband, but instead of a baby on the belly there is fries, burger and drink... :)

If you are interested in making your own skeleton costume check out Make It-Love It blog:

I thought I took more pictures then this, but apparently not!

Here is my finished product! I think it turned out pretty cute and it was easy/fun to make!
I wish baby would have turned out a little better, I used the freezer paper like she recommended, but still had a hard time with the paint not smearing while doing baby's arm.

Car Seat Canopy

I finally finished my car seat canopy. I don't know why I let it take me so long to get done. I still consider myself a beginner at this whole sewing thing. Mine is more simple then the one tutorial I posted back in August, but I think with the big floral pattern it works.

Here is the link for the tutorial I used:
http://www.make-it-do.com/sew-it/baby-car-seat-cover-tutorial/

Here I  have my fabric cut to 35"wide x 42" long
Here I am tracing the corners of the two big pieces shown above. You will then want to cut those corners off so the canopy won't hang down to far on the corners.

Sew your backing and your top inside out together 1/4" seam, but leave a little opening to be able to turn it right side out and then hand stitch your opening shut.
I then cut 4, 4"x9 1/2" strips to create the straps on top. I just used the one fabric color on the straps, the same fabric that was used on the backing.

I then sewed 2 of the strips together, leaving one end open to turn it right side out. I bought the non-gooey Velcro that was recommended in the original tutorial and it worked out nicely.

In order to get the strap placement I ended up draping the canopy over and pinning the straps to the canopy where I thought looked good, then took the canopy off and measured them, to make sure they were even (Mine were pretty close, just had to move one down an inch) and then pinned and then sewed them in place.

Here is a final picture of my simplified car seat canopy! I love the bright colors!
